How Can We Help?
KCX-B*W(M) replace
Question
I am continuously using KCX-B*W (KCX-B*WM).
I heard that it will be discountinued, which is the alternative model?
Answer
A similar model is the KCV series.
Since there are differences in specifications, please check the following notes when replacing.
-Notes-
If used under the following conditions, it can be replaced with KCX-*W (KCX-*WM).
– Input logic: Positive logic (SW4 B side)
– Output operation switching: Mode 0 or 2 (SW5)
– When counting only in one direction (only adding, only subtracting)

Model number comparison table
KCX-B series | KCV series | remarks |
---|---|---|
KCX-B4W | KCV-4S | 4-digit AC power supply |
KCX-B4WM | ||
KCX-B6W | KCV-6S | 6-digit AC power supply |
KCX-B6WM |
Notes
1. The external dimensions are different. (KCX: 72mm square ->KCV: 48mm square)
2. The maximum input speed is different. (KCX-B: 20kHz -> KCV: 10kHz)
3. The output current of the power supply for the sensor is different. (KCX: 80mA -> KCV: 60mA)
4. The KCV transistor output cannot be used in positive logic (PNP).
5. The terminal block arrangement and setup method are different between KCX-B and KCV.
6. KCX has no contact output / contact output for the first set value,
. There is also a non-contact output / contact output for the second set value,
. For KCV, the output of the first set value (with prediction output) is non-contact output,
. The output of the second set value is the contact output.
2. The maximum input speed is different. (KCX-B: 20kHz -> KCV: 10kHz)

Input connection method
Output connection method
If the contact output is used for the KCX-B’s first set value output, an external relay is required at the time of replacement.
If a non-contact output is used for the second set value output of KCX-B, it will be a contact output after replacement.
Preset value
Both KCX-B / KCV are set with each digit key.
DIP switch setting
When replacing mode 0 (hold output / count continuation), SW5 of KCV is set to ON.
KCX-B’s Dip SW4 (input / output logic) settings are set in the KCV setup mode.
* The transistor output of KCV cannot be used in positive logic (PNP).
