How Can We Help?
Design change
Question
KCV-**-2982 was introduced as a temporary specification product of KCV.
What makes it different from conventional products?
Also, what will the final specifications of KCV be?
Answer
For the KCV series, we provided KCV□-2982 as a temporary measure during the design change process.
There are differences between the two products as shown below, so we ask for your understanding.
After the design change, the specifications are as shown in the table below for “Complete product with design change”.

No | Item | Change point | Until Sep 2022 | After 2022 Oct | temporary model -2982 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | specification | Ambient temperature | -10 to 50 deg. | 0 to 50 deg. | |
2 | Certification | UL | Certificate | – | |
3 | LED | 7 segments | |||
4 | Setup mode | Prescale setting | |||
5 | Setup mode | Decimal point setting | select:0/0.0/0.00/0.000/0.0000/0.00000 | select:0/0.0/0.00/0.000 | |
6 | Setup mode | magnification | The value multiplied by the internal counter value is displayed on the count value display depending on the decimal point setting. – If the decimal point setting is 0 Count value display = internal counter value * 1/1 – If the decimal point setting is 0.0 Count value display = internal counter value * 1/10 – If the decimal point setting is 0.00 Count value display = internal counter value * 1/100 – If the decimal point setting is 0.000 Count value display = internal counter value * 1/1000 Example: When the internal counter value is “1.234” – If the decimal point setting is 0 Count value display = 1 – If the decimal point setting is 0.0 Count value display = 0.1 – If the decimal point setting is 0.00 Count value display = 0.01 – If the decimal point setting is 0.000 Count value display = 0.001 *Since multiplication is performed depending on the position of the decimal point, 234 after 1 in “1.234” is not displayed |
Rather than multiplying the value of the internal counter, it sets the display position of the decimal point Example: When the internal counter value is “1.234” – If the decimal point setting is 0 Count value display = 1 – If the decimal point setting is 0.0 Count value display = 1.2 – If the decimal point setting is 0.00 Count value display = 1.23 – If the decimal point setting is 0.000 Count value display = 1.234 |

7 | Setup mode | Prediction output settings when key protection is enabled |
Key protection is canceled and prediction output settings can be changed. | Key protection will not be canceled and prediction output settings cannot be changed *Only confirmation of prediction output settings The key protection is working, but when I press the key. Key protection display does not blink. |

8 | Output holding | Output operation when preset value is less than prediction output value | – prediction output : ON * OFF while RST key is pressed – A new pulse signal comes Count value is less than preset value -> DC output ON Realy output OFF Count value is greater than preset value -> DC output ON Realy output ON |
– prediction output : OFF *Compare with count value display when counting timing occurs – A new pulse signal comes Count value is less than preset value -> DC output ON Realy output OFF Count value is greater than preset value -> DC output ON Realy output ON |
|
9 | Output | Preset value is zero | Notes (1) Even if the power is turned on when both the count value and preset value are zero, the output will not turn on. (One-shot output, at power reset) (2) When the count value is zero in addition mode, the output will turn on if you set the preset value from a value other than zero to zero. (3) When the preset value is zero in addition mode, the output turns on when the count value reaches zero from minus. (4) Even if the holding output and power failure memory are set and the preset value is zero, the output will turn on when the power is turned off and then turned on again while the output is on. |

10 | Output | Preset value is zero | When the count value is zero, DC/Relay output turns on when the power is turned on. | When the counting timing occurs, the comparison operation with the count value display is performed, so the DC/Relay output is turned off. *If you want to turn on the output – Add addition pulse -> subtraction pulse and set the count display value to zero – Add subtraction pulse -> addition pulse and set the count display value to zero |
|
11 | Count | Under flow/Over flow | – The counter internally counts correctly within the range of -2,147,483.648 to 2,147,483.647. – If this counting range is exceeded, the counting and output will be reset. |
– The counter internally counts correctly even outside the range of -2,147,483.648 to 2,147,483.647. (Counting and output are never reset) |
