Replace KCX-B*(M) with KCX-*D(M)

Question

Question

I have been using KCX-B* (KCX-B*M) continuously, but I heard that it has been discontinued.
I hear that KCX-*D(M) can be used as an alternative model depending on the usage, but could you please tell me specifically?

Answer

Answer

If used under the following conditions, it can be replaced with KCX-*D (KCX-*DM).
– Input logic: Positive logic (SW4 B side)
– Output operation switching: Mode 0 to 5 (SW5)
– When counting only in one direction (only increment, only decrement)

Replacement

Model number comparison table

KCX-B series KCX-D(M) series
KCX-B4 KCX-4D
KCX-B4M KCX-4DM
KCX-B6 KCX-6D
KCX-B6M KCX-6DM

If an encoder is connected to the input

Connect only either OUTA or OUTB of the encoder signal to the counting input of the counter.

When used in decrement mode

for example,
If the setting value is 500, the counter operation will start from 500, and when the count value reaches 0, OUT will turn on.
However, KCX-*(M) does not allow subtraction in this way.
Therefore
Set value: 500, the counter operation starts from 0, and when the count value reaches 500, OUT turns on.
Please change the usage to .

Output operation

If KCX-B*(M) is used in mode 0 or 3, short-circuit between terminal number 4-5-6 of KCX-*D(M).
If KCX-B*(M) is used in mode 1 or 4, short-circuit only between terminal number 4 and 6 of KCX-*D(M).
If KCX-B*(M) is used in mode 2 or 5, do not connected terminal number 4-5-6 of KCX-*D(M) unconnected.
