D2 / SZ series CPU replacement precautions

Question

Question

I would like to update the D2 (SZ) series CPU to D2-263, D2-265.
Are there any precautions?

Answer

Answer

Attention should be paid to module mounting restrictions and support for special modules.
For details, see “Notes” below.

Notes

Module mounting restrictions

In the SZ / D2 series CPU, the following special modules cannot be installed and used in the slot (Slot0) to the right of the CPU installation slot on the CPU installation base.

Power outage support

R4000 to R4177 in the D2-230 (SZ-3) and R4000 to R4377 in the D2-240 (SZ-4) are non-volatile data registers.
If you replace this system with the D2-263, the data registers will not be retained during a power outage.
If you are using this area, install a battery in the D2-263 and set the power outage retention area.
(This is not necessary if replacing with the D2-265)
